Barron Trump 'takes voice lessons' as he 'wants to sound more American'

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, is reportedly taking steps to refine his public persona and it starts with his accent. At 19, Barron has been quietly working to soften his Slovenian accent, aiming to "sound more like his American peers," according to celebrity journalist Rob Shuter.

Sources close to the White House told Shuter that Barron is highly focused on how he presents himself and wants to feel confident when speaking publicly. This effort comes as part of a broader interest in becoming more involved in politics.

The 19-year-old first caught public attention in a viral childhood video, where he spoke English with a distinct Slovenian accent a reflection of his upbringing. Raised largely by his mother, Melania Trump, and her parents, Amalija and Viktor Knavs, Barron naturally adopted their Slovenian-inflected speech.

While he has remained relatively reserved compared to his older brothers Donald Jr. and Eric, Barron was more visible during the 2024 presidential campaign. Analyses of video clips over the years show how his voice and speaking style have gradually evolved. During his father’s first term, Melania herself born in Slovenia was especially protective of Barron’s privacy, keeping him largely out of the public eye.

Recently, reports suggest that Melania was upset after a MAGA-aligned influencer shared details of a private conversation with Barron on a popular podcast. She also reportedly cautioned photographers at Mar-a-Lago over the holidays about taking his pictures without permission.

Barron’s accent work may tie into his growing interest in politics. He is said to have advised his father on ways to connect with younger voters, including recommending appearances on modern platforms like podcasts such as the Joe Rogan Experience, where Trump appeared in October 2024. Will Donahue, president of the College Republicans of America, even indicated earlier this year that Barron could be welcomed into leadership roles within the organization.

As Barron steps into the political spotlight, refining his accent appears to be one of his first moves toward presenting a confident and polished public image.
