Donald Trump's sleeping during meetings claims addressed head on by the White House

Recently, President Donald Trump has been spotted with his eyes closed during several official events, including Cabinet meetings and press briefings. These moments, captured in multiple photos and videos, sparked a wave of social media commentary, with some questioning his stamina and alertness.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles addressed these concerns directly, assuring the public that the former president was not asleep. She explained, “He’s not asleep. He’s got his eyes closed and his head leaned back … and, you know, he’s fine.”

Despite this, footage from a December 2nd Cabinet session showed Mr. Trump briefly nodding off during the meeting. Social media users were quick to react. One Democrat-identified account tweeted: “Trump just fell asleep again. This keeps happening. He’s obviously not okay.” Another user commented, “Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him. Just insane optics.”

In response to the December 2nd session, Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, defended him, emphasizing his endurance and focus during the multi-hour meeting. “President Trump was listening attentively and running the entire three-hour marathon Cabinet meeting,” she said, highlighting the administration’s accomplishments.

Trump himself has previously downplayed concerns about his rest habits. After being seen with his eyes closed during a November 6th Oval Office announcement, he commented on his schedule, noting that he does not sleep much and implying that it allows him to focus on leadership responsibilities. He also used the moment to take a jab at President Joe Biden, who he claims “sleeps all the time.”

These incidents have fueled debates on social media and in news circles about presidential stamina and the optics of public appearances, especially for leaders balancing long hours and high-pressure roles.
