President Donald Trump held a press conference at the White House on Friday to announce a new prescription drug pricing agreement involving nine major pharmaceutical companies. Under what he described as a “most-favored-nation pricing” model, Americans would pay the lowest available international prices for medications treating conditions such as type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
While the policy announcement drew attention, much of the online conversation quickly shifted elsewhere.
Viewers watching the event noticed Trump standing off to the side while pharmaceutical executives spoke, with his left hand placed over his right for an extended period. The positioning led to widespread speculation on social media that he may have been attempting to conceal bruising on his hand.
The moment revived earlier concerns. In July, Trump was publicly diagnosed with a chronic venous condition after visible bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs prompted questions. At the time, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump had undergone a comprehensive medical evaluation, including vascular testing.
According to Leavitt, the bruising was attributed to minor tissue damage from frequent handshaking, compounded by aspirin use as part of a routine cardiovascular prevention plan.
Despite those explanations, scrutiny around Trump’s health has persisted. In recent weeks, he has been observed closing his eyes during Cabinet meetings, leading some observers to suggest he appeared to be dozing off.
White House officials have consistently rejected that interpretation. Chief of Staff Susie Wiles dismissed the speculation, insisting there was no cause for concern.
“He’s not asleep,” Wiles said. “He has his eyes closed and his head leaned back and he’s fine.”
Even so, the latest press conference demonstrates how closely Trump’s physical condition continues to be watched, with even small gestures quickly fueling debate as he remains a central figure in U.S. politics at age 79.
New announcement,he's not dead ,he just likes to sleep in a coffin.
