Donald Trump has Truth Social tantrum after Fox News guest slams his economic policies

President Donald Trump publicly criticized Fox News after economist Peter Schiff appeared on Fox & Friends and argued that Trump’s economic agenda could push inflation even higher. The segment quickly set off a wave of reactions across social media, especially as inflation, wages, and the future of the U.S. economy remain major trending topics.

During the December 6 broadcast, Schiff warned that inflation would “accelerate” if Trump’s policies continued. Although the hosts attempted to highlight rising wages and the possibility of a cooling housing market that might help younger Americans, Schiff remained firm in his stance, telling viewers the economic outlook “is not going to get better for a long time.”

Soon after the segment aired, Trump took to Truth Social and questioned why Fox News invited Schiff at all. He dismissed the economist as someone who has been “consistently wrong” and even claimed that prices are “coming down substantially.” However, current data shows many essential costs including food are still rising.

Trump also suggested that Fox News may be “heading in a different direction,” and demanded the network investigate whoever booked Schiff for the interview.

Schiff did not back down. Responding on X, he invited Trump to debate him on the economy, saying that if Trump believes prices are falling as fast as he claims, he should “prove it.”

The exchange quickly gained traction online. Many viewers sided with Schiff, praising him for challenging Trump’s statements and pointing out ongoing issues with inflation and cost of living. Others, mostly Trump supporters, brushed off Schiff’s comments and argued that Trump would never debate him.

This clash highlights a bigger trend: Americans remain deeply divided on economic policy, inflation forecasts, and which political leader can best handle the country’s financial challenges. As the 2024 election season continues, debates like these will likely grow even louder both on TV and across platforms like X, Truth Social, and TikTok.
