Donald Trump’s latest White House display has sparked unexpected criticism even from Fox News.
During a live segment of Fox & Friends, co-host Brian Kilmeade openly distanced himself from the president after Trump unveiled a series of plaques that appeared to mock former presidents, including Joe Biden and Barack Obama.
The plaques, part of what Trump has dubbed the “Presidential Walk of Fame,” feature images or portraits of previous U.S. presidents but with pointed, personal commentary. One plaque targeting President Biden read: “Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst president in American history.” Notably, Biden’s portrait was replaced with a photo of an autopen. Another plaque labeled Barack Obama as “one of the most divisive political figures in American history,” while Bill Clinton’s plaque reminded visitors: “In 2016, President Clinton’s wife, Hillary Clinton, lost the presidency to President Donald J Trump!”
Kilmeade’s remarks were a rare on-air rebuke from a network usually supportive of Trump. He suggested the plaques were unnecessary, emphasizing that some presidents who were unpopular during their terms later became respected historical figures.
The display quickly drew backlash online, with critics accusing Trump of focusing on personal attacks instead of policy. Comments included: “How can you be a president for the whole country while busy trolling half of it?” and “Instead of lowering grocery prices, we got meme plaques at the White House.”
Supporters, however, defended Trump’s approach, with some pointing out that Kilmeade should have expected this behavior from the former president.
The “Presidential Walk of Fame” runs along corridors between the Oval Office and the South Lawn, marking the latest unusual addition to Trump’s White House legacy.
