Recent reports claim that Donald Trump appeared to drift off during two separate public events in the same week, raising fresh concerns about his stamina and focus. According to journalist and biographer Michael Wolff, people inside the White House are increasingly uneasy about what they describe as Trump’s growing tendency to nod off during key meetings.
Wolff explained that staff allegedly “don’t know what to do” when Trump’s eyes close during live events because cameras are rolling and waking him could create an even bigger spectacle. He also noted that Trump often lashes out afterward, blaming aides for “letting it happen,” which only adds to the ongoing tension behind the scenes.
The first incident reportedly happened during a Cabinet meeting, though the White House quickly denied it. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt insisted that Trump was fully alert and involved during the three-hour session.
Just two days later, however, Trump was again filmed appearing to lose focus while hosting leaders from Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo during the signing of new peace and mineral-access agreements.
These moments come at a time when Trump’s health and cognitive sharpness have already become a major topic of public and media scrutiny. Instead of calming concerns, Trump responded with a lengthy post on Truth Social blasting critics and calling coverage of his health “treasonous.”
He insisted he works “harder than any president in history” and denied any suggestion that he is slowing down.
Many observers, including Democrats, see these repeated moments as part of a larger pattern that raises legitimate questions about Trump’s readiness for the demands of the presidency. And as more footage circulates online, those questions aren’t going away anytime soon.
